  1. Muonium fine structure: theory update, tests of Lorentz violation, and experimental prospects

Blumer, Philipp; Geissmann, Svenja; Vargas, Arnaldo J.; et al. (2025)
    The European Physical Journal D
We review the status of the QED calculations for the muonium 2S(1/2)-2P(3/2 )energy interval and provide the updated theoretical value of 9874.357(1) MHz . Additionally, we present a model for probing Lorentz-violating coefficients within the Standard Model Extension framework using the fine structure measurement in the presence and absence of a weak external magnetic field, enabling novel tests of CPT and Lorentz symmetry. Using Monte ...

  2. Cold source of atomic hydrogen for loading large magnetic traps

Semakin, Aleksei; Ahokas, Janne; Hanski, Otto; et al. (2025)
    The European Physical Journal D
We present a design and performance tests of an intense source of cold hydrogen atoms for loading large magnetic traps. Our source is based on a cryogenic dissociator of molecular hydrogen at 0.6 K followed by a series of thermal accommodators at 0.5, 0.2 and 0.13 K with inner surfaces covered by a superfluid helium film. All components are thermally anchored to corresponding stages of a dilution refrigerator. The source provides a ...

  3. Climate Change Maps for the Atlas of Switzerland

Gaia, Luca; Neumann, Andreas; Hurni, Lorenz (2025)
    ISPRS INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL OF GEO-INFORMATION
Climate change has global consequences, and Switzerland is no exception. The communication of climate change poses various challenges, and maps are often part of this process. This work presents three maps illustrating the impacts of climate change, developed for the Atlas of Switzerland (AoS), an interactive digital national atlas. The aim is to make climate change impacts understandable and visible. Three different indicators of climate ...

  4. The IBEX Knowledge-Base: A central resource for multiplexed imaging techniques

    Radtke A.J.; Anidi I.U.; Arakkal L.; et al. (2025)
    PLoS Biology
Multiplexed imaging is a powerful approach in spatial biology, although it is complex, expensive and labor-intensive. Here, we present the IBEX Knowledge-Base, a central resource for reagents, protocols and more, to enhance knowledge sharing, optimization and innovation of spatial proteomics techniques.

  5. Comparative Analysis of Bending and Rolling Shear Performance of Poplar and Hybrid Maple–Poplar Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT)

    Das S.; Gašparík M.; Sethy A.K.; et al. (2025)
    Journal of Composites Science
Cross-laminated timber (CLT) is gaining popularity as a sustainable alternative to traditional building materials. However, the decline of natural vegetation and the growth of plantation hardwoods has led the researchers to consider alternatives. This study presents a comparative analysis of bending and rolling shear performance of homogenous poplar (Populus nigra L.) CLT and hybrid CLT, with maple (Acer platanoides L.), in the outer layer ...
